Inheritance cycle – A Trilogy by Christoper Paolini

I have read the first of the three books and it was quite good. I'm going to finish this dragon-filled trilogy before commenting more. If you'd like more information on this series or Author, please visit this website.

(I borrowed #1, Eragon, from my husband's friend. Borrowed #2, Eldest, from the local library. I'm pretty sure #3, Brisinger, will come from the library too.)

I reached a BIG BUMMER today. Apparently, I didn't do my research properly. There are 4 books to this series. It is a "cycle", not a "trilogy". I discovered this when I got to the last page of book 3. :/ The worst part is that the 4th book hasn't been published yet!

The silver lining? Book 3 was published in 2008 - therefore, the author has been working on book 4 for 2 years now. Maybe, (just maybe) he'll be done soon? No news on the internet yet.

The movie "Eragon" is based on the first book of this cycle. It doesn't do the book justice; it is too fast. It is horrible, actually, read the book instead!

I've just finished reading "Inheritance", the fourth and final book of this series! I'm always anxious to read all the way through, then when I finish a series, it makes me sad... like losing an old friend.

At any rate, this is a good series... it'll make you laugh and cry. It is considered a teen novel, so it isn't a difficult read at all. This last book was 849 pages and I read it in 6 days with plenty of breaks in between.

As far as a series goes, I'd encourage this one because it is only a 4 book commitment. Less than Harry Potter even!
